Akala, two others arraigned in Ibadan

Ola Ajayi, Ibadan
THE immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, Senator Hosea Agboola representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly and a contractor, Mr. Femi Babalola were arraigned Tuesday in Ibadan on an 11-count charge bordering on conspiracy, illegal acquisition of property and illegal award of contracts by the economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Despite the fact that hundreds of supporters of the former governor were disappointed on Monday  when they waited in vain to catch a glance of their boss, as early as 8.15am Tuesday, when the former governor and two of his aides were conveyed to the court in a bus with number plate AJ 134 SBC KADUNA, they thronged the court premises singing praise songs.

All the accused persons pleaded not guilty to all the charges read to them at the State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan.

Other charges preferred against the three accused persons include obtaining property by false pretense and acquiring property with money derived from alleged illegal act and concealing the ownership of such property.
