UGHELLI-PROMINENT Deltans, Thursady, hailed the Appeal Court judgment striking out the appeal of the governorship candidate of the Democratic Peoples Party, DPP, in the January 6th governorship rerun against Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Those who spoke to our correspondent on telephone includes; the State commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Newworld Safugha, Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, Mr Jaro Egbo, Mr Thomas Eryitomi, Olorogun John Oguma, Dr Issac Akpoveta, Olorogun Taleb Tebite, Mr Fred Majemite and Mr Godwin Masah.

They described the victory as the wish of God for Deltans and that it was victory for democracy and the rule of law.

Mr Newworld Safugha, commended the Appeal Tribunal for the judgment, adding that; “it is a landmark judgment that will go down in the history of Nigeria judiciary.”

On his part, Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, one-time commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said the judgment was expected, adding that the lower tribunal judgment was sound and could not be punctured by a hirer tribunal.

National Deputy President of the Urhobo Youth Council, Mr Jaro Egbo on his part said the judgment was a victory for democracy and the rule of law.

Also speaking in the same vain, chairman of Ugborode community trust, Mr Thomas Eryitomi, Olorogun John Oguma, Dr Issac Akpoveta, Olorogun Taleb Tebite, Political Adviser (Delta Central) to the State Governor, Mr Fred Majemite and Mr Godwin Masah said the judgment was a vindication of the victory of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and the PDP in the January 6th rerun.

While congratulating Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan on his victory at the tribunal, they urged Deltans to remain steadfast in their support for the governor.

According to them, the PDP was the only party that could deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the State.
