The first private aviation college in the country, Ilorin International Aviation College, has formerly got its commercial pilot training certificate from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The certificate was presented to the Kwara state Governor Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed by the representative of the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Mr Emmanuel Ogunbanbi .
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed described the occasion as a fulfillment of the State Government’s effort to partner with the private sector under a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) arrangement for the development of aviation industry in the country
His words: “Today marks another milestone in our determination to partner with the private sector to promote the growth and development of the aviation industry in Nigeria. The need for this arose from obvious deficit in the aviation personnel ready to drive this sector.
“It is therefore a thing of joy for me to be here this morning to receive a certificate that will enable us commence training in our newly established Aviation College”.
