Litigants in the various election petitions in Anambra State were taken aback, Tuesday, when they learnt that the Acting President of Court of Appeal had ordered that hearing in cases which were referred back to Anambra Legislative Houses Election Petition Tribunal (1) be put on hold, pending further directives.

Governor Babatunde Fashola, SAN, Tuesday, received a cheque donation of N100 million from Dangote Group for victims of the July 10 flooding in Lagos with its Group Chairman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, urging residents to pay their taxes to the government regularly.

Following the rising tension in the riverside community of Peremabiri in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State over the deployment of gunboats and the alleged cases of harassment by soldiers, the community has petitioned President Goodluck Jonathan warning of the deteriorating security situation in the area.
