IBADAN— BRIGADIER- General Kola Olowu, the Grand President, Knights of St. John International, has said with the accessibility of Boko Haram sect to information technology to disseminate ideas and propaganda, the sect seems a perfect instrument to destabilise the country.
He stated during a quarterly board of trustee meeting entitled the new beginning held in Ibadan that the recent bombing of the United Nations building in Abuja clearly showed the extent of the infiltration of the group into towns and cities in the country.
This came as the presiding Bishop, Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Bishop Wale Oke, warned the Federal Government to handle pockets of unrest in the country with utmost care.
The bishop, while speaking with newsmen on the 55th birthday and the 29th annual convention of the church entitled ‘The Holy Spirit and you,’ said the Federal Government should take caution so that handling the unrest would not further aggravate security situation in the country.
He said: “There are crises in Jos and Borno states. Ibadan and in some other states in the north there are natural disasters. In this circumstance our leaders require God’s wisdom to sail through. They need wisdom to do the right thing at the right time.
As Nigeria is preparing to celebrate its 51st anniversary I want to call on our leaders and the people of this country to be more prayerful so that the evil ones will not destroy our nation”.
