The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), will next Tuesday in Abuja, present the report of its study into the competitiveness of micro, small and medium scale enterprises in the country.
The study, the presentation of which will take place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja, was sponsored by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Project (MSME Nigeria), a collaboration project between the World Bank and the Federal Government, which is coordinated by the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC).
The study has been based on business environment analysis as conducted by a team of researchers from the group, and will be presented by the Director General of NESG, Mr. Frank Nweke Jnr.
Trade and Investments minister, Mr. Olusegun Aganga is expected to lead discussion on the presentation alongside Chairman of the NESG, Mr. Foluso Philips, Executive secretary of NIPC Engr. Mustapha Bello and Director General of the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency of Nigerian (SMEDAN) Alhaji Nadada Umar.
A statement by the NESG, said the MSME Nigeria Project considered the study imperative given their activities in the sector in the last five years to enhance the capacity of the MSME sector in creating employment and enhancing the growth profile of that group of economic actors in the country
The one-day event is expected to attract stakeholders, development partners, government officials and the press.
