The Executive Chairman of Apapa Local Government Area, Mr.Ayodeji Joseph, has improved the education standard on primary and secondary students in the council, upon assuming office three years ago.
This year’s summer holiday coaching for both primary and post primary organised the local council boss ended in grand style as students went home with gift items and other academic awards and prizes to remember with.
However, this year exercise saw about 500 pupils benefitted from all subjects taught and there were side attractions which include; career counseling, entrepreneur education, award/prize giving.
Speaking at the prize giving day, the Chairman, Mr. Ayodeji Joseph, said “ This exercise is a yearly thing and part of our strategy to raise the standard of education in our primary schools while also ensuring our pupils are not idle during the holiday.”
“It is designed to ensure continuos learning by the pupils in Apapa and keep them away from crime and other social vices which they may embark on if they are idle.”
Master Aliyu Akeem, spoke on behalf of the students expressed their appreciation and begged the local government council to repeat the summer coaching next year.
Among the souvenirs distributed were: Mathematical sets, branded note books, text books, school bags.
