BENIN – A member of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and a Director in the Kenneth Imasuagbon Governorship Campaign Organisation, Mr. Henry Idahagbon and over 2,000 of his supporters, yesterday, dumped the PDP for the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.
They cited the developmental strides of the ACN-led administration and Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s insistence on true democracy through his “one-man one-vote mantra” as reason for their defection.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the ACN in the state, Mr. Osatohanwen Aghimien, has faulted the criticisms against Governor Oshiomhole from leaders of the PDP, describing them as misleading and unfair to the governor.
Oshiomhole, who received the decampees, said there was no crisis in Edo ACN, adding: “ACN as a large family was capable of settling its internal quarrels. People are free to murmur.
“Don’t worry, everything is on course. Let us remain focused on why this party was formed, which is to take over power and redefine the primary purpose of going into politics— development.”
