ABEOKUTA- Governor Ibukunle Amosun of Ogun state, yesterday retired five more Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service bringing to 19 the number sent home within one week.

Those retired are Mr. Tokunbo Ogunyomi (Government House) Frank Omolayole (Governor’s Office), Ayo Vaughan (Housing) Adewole Adekoya (Water Resources) and Demola Badejo, former Clerk of the House of Assembly.

Vanguard gathered that each of the affected officers was summoned by Governor Amosun and told of his decision then directed to immediately put in a letter of retirement.

Amosun was said to have left thereafter for the inauguration of Statutory Boards and Commissions with clear instructions that the letters should be on his table before his return.

One of the affected officers, who had parked his personal effects, told Vanguard that he was still in his office at about 1pm waiting for the Governor to give him his copy of the approval.

It will be recalled that Governor Amosun had on Friday announced the retirement of 14 Permanent Secretaries.
