A new private university, Elizade University, Ilara Mokin in Ondo State, established by the chairman of Toyota Nigeria Limited, Chief Michael Ade Ojo, is to kick off in November this year.
Speaking after the third visit of the NUC standing committee on private universities, Ade Ojo said the project has gulped over N7billion.
The committee was led by Professor Adio Ogunbona.
According to the founder, the “university was designed to correct the rot in the education system of the country and also improve standards.
Ade Ojo said efforts would be made to ensure that anybody that qualifies for admission is not deprived because of financial hindrances.
He said with the stage at which the university is, he had started to achieve the vision of establishing a world class institution.
According to him, the university would shop for expatriate administrative staff and serious minded Nigerian lecturers to ensure the best for students.
The institution, he stated would offer scholarship for indigent students while the total development of the students would be a priority.
