THE  guard attached to the Ozoro country home of the legal adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State chapter, Mr Jim Elueni, Isoko North Local Government Area of the State, has been killed by suspected assassins.

Sunday Vanguard gathered that the suspected assailants stormed the residence of the PDP chieftain at about 8 p.m. in a commando style, Monday night, believing that the PDP legal adviser, Mr Jim Elueni, was in.

The suspected assailants, not seeing their target, fired a shot at the guard, identified as John Amenica, who perhaps was trying to rebuff them.

The victim, in his 60s, was left dead in his pool of blood in the compound. The killing has led to the imposition of 8p.m to 6a.m curfew in the Ozoro polytechnic community.

Speaking to our correspondent on telephone, Elueni expressed shock at the development and wondered who was after his life, adding that he had cause to disagree with some persons in the area on grounds of principles during the elections.

Effort  to reach the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in Ozoro over the matter proved abortive.  However, a senior police officer attached to the division confirmed the incident. The source said the police was already investigating the matter.
