Sifax sends supporters club to Colombia

The Flying Eagles will from the semi final stage of the on going Colombia 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup enjoy maximum support from the stands courtesy of Lagos based shipping outfit, Sifax.

Sifax Friday doled out 10 million naira to the Nigeria Football Supporters Club to enable members of the group hit Colombia to cheer the John Obuh tutored side should Nigeria get past France in today’s quarter final clash.

President of the supporters club, Dr Rauf Ladipo, who confirmed receipt of the cheque said 15 members of his group will hit Colombia early next week, even as he expressed confidence that the Flying Eagles will qualify for the semi .

“The supporters club as a group has been praying for the Flying Eagles. We will

re double our prayers ahead of Sunday’s game against France. By his grace we will beat France and zoom into the semi final. We shall be on ground to cheer them in the semi final and final” Ladipo said.

The supporters club boss was full of praise for the managing director of Sifax, Dr Taiwo Afolabi for coming to the aid of the club with the 10 million naira life line.

“I want to say a big thank you to the managing director of Sifax for coming to our aid.

Colombia 2010 would have been the very first major international championship where we would have been missing.

Courtesy of Sifax, we will now be in Colombia at a time when our boys need our support most.”

Ladipo further disclosed that his group equally got two million naira from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the trip.

The supporters club president urged other Nigerians to identify with his group, even as pointed out that travelling to different parts of the world to cheer Nigerian teams is capital intensive.
