Osogbo – The leadership of the Osun chapters of the, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, weekend directed their members to embark on an indefinite strike from today.
The unions made the declaration following the inability of the labour leaders and representatives of the state government to reach an agreement on the implementation of the N18,000 new national minimum wage.
Governor Rauf Aregbesola had led state government delegation to the meeting with the leadership of the unions where labour demanded for the full implementation of the new wage.
The government delegation included Deputy Governor Titi Laoye-Tomori; Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti; Chief of Staff, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, and Head of Service, Mr. Segun Akinwusi.
The NLC and TUC delegations were led by Comrade Saka Adesiyan and Comrade Francis Oladele, respectively.
