Elder statesman and leader of the South-South Peoples Assembly, Chief Edwin K. Clark has lost his daughter, Werikemba Henrietta David Oshowole.

The deceased died at the Royal-Free Hospital in London on Sunday 14th August 2011 at about 11pm after a brief illness.
Born in 1970, the late Werikemba was the third daughter of Chief Clark. She attended Anglican Girls Grammar School in Nzoro, Delta State and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where she bagged a degree in International Relations.

Married to David Oshowole, the death of the Henrietta was decribed as very painful by the father, who has been receiving sympathizers at his Asokoro, Abuja home.

Among early callers to condole with Chief Clark were President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, his wife Dame Patience, former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Chief Tony Anenih, the National Secuirty Adviser, Andrew Azazzi, the Chief of Staff to the President, Mike Oghadomen, Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe and Alhaji Bamanga Tukur,

Others include Chief Wale Babalakin, Mrs Shehu Musa Yar Adua, Senator Roland Owei, Senator Smart Adeyemi, Senator Bassey Ewa Henshaw, Chief Sunny Jackosn Udom, Senator Emmanuel Paulka, Chief Oronto Duoglas, Hajia Bola Shagaya, Goverment Tompolo, Asari Dokubo and Colonel Bala Mande.

Members of the family have continued to be by the elder statesman at his home in Abuja to give him emotional support and receive visitors who have been coming in numbers.

The remains of the deceased would be interred at the end of the month at Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government area of Delta State.
