Idoma group tasks IG on alleged murder of couple

BY PETER DURU

MAKURDI – An Idoma socio-cultural organisation, Edema Development Association, urged both the Inspector General of Police, IGP, and  the Federal Government to do to fish out brains behind the murder of Col. Francis Ogbeyi and his wife, Stella at their residence in Kaduna few days ago.

The group noted with dismay that days after the cold-blooded murder of the couple, no meaningful steps have been taken by the relevant security agencies to apprehend those behind the dastardly act.

A statement by President of the association, Chief Emmanuel Odoh condemned the murder of the couple, noting that this, “has again brought to the fore, security challenges facing Nigerians.”

The statement said: ‘’It is rather unfortunate that several days after the dastardly murder of Col Ogbeyi and his wife in their Kaduna home nothing concrete has been done to unravel the brains behind the murder.

‘’As relations of the deceased we hereby express our displeasure at the manner the matter is being handled and  demand that security agencies deploy all their acumen and intelligence to unravel the mystery in order to ensure that those responsible for the gruesome murder are brought to book”.
