The Imo State House of Assembly has thrown its support behind the efforts of the present management of Heartland FC led by Chief Fan Ndubuoke in repositioning the club to become a full professional club side, assuring that its members are ready to give a ‘helping hand.’
The speaker of the House, Chief Ben Uwajumogu made this pledge while receiving members of the club’s management team who paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the House of Assembly complex in Owerri on Monday.
He commended the new management especially for deeming it wise to pull the club out of the hotel and giving it a befitting office secretariat where the public, including the members of the business world, can do genuine sporting business with the club.
Chief Uwajumogu therefore, promised that the Imo State House of Assembly under him, will set up an ad hoc committee which will work with the current management team to identify and find solutions to the challenges facing the club.
