Despite seeing his side beat Panama 1-0 at the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, Coach of the Young Pharaohs of Egypt, El Sayed Diaa was still not happy.

Defender Ahmed Hegazi scored in the 67th minute. Egypt controlled the match from the start and had most of the significant scoring chances. Striker Mohamed Salah came close in the 20th minute when his shot was deflected on to a post by a defender.

“I’m upset because in the first half we missed too many chances,” he said.

“You miss chances and then you can end up allowing a goal any time

“But I’m happy with the second half and because we are 90 percent into the second round.”
One of Panama’s best chances came from forward Cecilio Waterman in the 30th minute.

He sped past several defenders and fired a right-foot shot from inside the area that was barely saved by Egyptian goalkeeper Ahmed Elshenawi.

“They are physically stronger and took advantage of that,” Panama coach Alfredo Poyatos said of Egypt.

Zambia fire Ghana World Cup warning shot  

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Kalusha Bwalya has warned Ghana that they have the capability to edge past the Black Stars to finish top of Group D of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The Chipolopolo were drawn to face the West Africans, Sudan and Lesotho or Burundi on Saturday in Brazil.
Bwalya, who is a legend in Zambia football, says their preparation for the World Cup qualifiers will start at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Caf executive committee member says their performance at the tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea will determine how far they will go in the 20012 World Cup qualifiers

Bwalya admits that Ghana are the favourites in the group but they also want to grab the sole ticket to the final phase of the qualifiers.
