Ajimobi nominates Adesina’s son as commissioner

IBADAN— IN response to protest by members of the Action Party of Nigeria, ACN, over the list of Commissioner-nominees governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, sent to the State House of Assembly, the governor has submitted the name of the of Mr. Dapo Adesina, son of former governor of the state, Alhaji Lam Adeshina as a commissioner designate.

The governor had about two weeks ago, sent 16 names to the House, but a week later, six of the names were replaced with new names.
Mr. Adesina was said to have been included after some leaders of thoughts convinced the governor to review the names of the commissioner-nominees to accommodate some interest groups.

A source told Vanguard that, the former governor did not raise any objection when the names of the nominees were made public without his son.

It will be recalled that Dipo Adesina contested a seat for the Federal House of Representatives and lost in the April poll.

His candidature then generated ripples among some members of the party who complained that despite the sacrifice they made, the leaders of the party did not follow due process by allowing all the aspirants to go for primaries.
