Terrorism: Pastor calls for divine grace

By Ifeanyi Okolie

The General Overseer, Global Success Ministries, Dr. Chima Okereke has urged President Goodluck Jonathan not to rely solely on the use of force, but to seek divine grace of God as battle to crush the surging trend of terrorism in the Country.

Speaking  at the launch of  a vocational center at the  Church headquarters in Lagos State, weekend,   where he called on government to tackle poverty, which he said has been a major boost to crime and other nefarious activities  in the country, the General Oversea cautioned that  the over reliance on human wisdom  and military  strength would not bring  a lasting solution  to the terrible security situation in the country.

“ Rather, it will deepen  the already dire situation if  the President and  heads of security agencies does not seek divine grace of God,  which would not only bring  a lasting solution to the crisis, but equally provide adequate wisdom in tackling the situation”.

He explained that the  aim of establishing the vocational outfit was to fight the spate of  poverty  ravaging Nigerians, most especially the disabled, indigent students and widows within the society . “ This  vocational center is an establishment that I hope would help in the reduction of poverty in our society. It is not solely for members of this church but for the general public, mostly  the disabled, indigent students and widows within our society.”

The vocational center which according to the cleric, was tagged “Success Vocational Center”,  has secured the best hands in practical training who will develop inter~sectoral skills for numerous people in need.

He also assured that trainees on completion of their vocational exercise would be empowered financially to start business of their choice, emphasizing that it pays more to empower one to be able to take care of his basic needs than to continue to spoon feed people.
