S-East govts, OPS plan to transform region’s economy

ABUJA-State governments and Organised Private Sectors, OPS, in the South East geo-political zone have concluded arrangements to convene a major economic summit for  development a road map for the economic transformation of the region.

A facilitator of the summit, Prince Okechukwu Nwadinobi, who is also President of Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, ECCIMA, explained that the project was part of the resolve and determination to lift the near comatose economy of the South East geo-political zone and reposition it to meet present and future challenges.

Prince Nwadinobi said the summit, with the theme, “Creating a 21st Century Economy for South East Nigeria,” will come up between July 20 and 22, 2011, in  Enugu.

According to him, “economic and political experts have been assembled from both within and outside Nigeria to participate in the summit.”
