A Police Sergeant, Mr. Olowojoyin Abolade, has been charged before a Lagos State High Court for the murder of one Yusuf Omole.

The offence  is contrary to Section 319 (1) of the criminal code law Cap C. Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State 2003.

According to the charge, Sgt. Abolade was alleged to have “on August 28, 2009 at Ademuyiwa Junction, Iponri, Lagos, in Lagos Judicial Division, did murder one Yusuf Omole by shooting him at close range in the chest with a gun.”

It was gathered that the deceased had resisted arrest, while his friends threw pebbles at the Police officer. It was during the struggle that his gun was said to have gone off.
