ABUJA-GROUP Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mr. Austin Oniwon, and the President, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Mr. Aminu Abdulkadir, yesterday, pledged before the members of the House of Representatives to flood the market with kerosene within the next three weeks.
It is uncertain how NNPC and IPMAN plan to achieve this target, as the corporation had in June made a similar promise to flood the market with the scarce commodity within 10 days, which did not come to pass.
The NNPC GMD, after being grilled by the members, made a solemn pledge that the scarce commodity, which had gone out of the reach of ordinary Nigerians since the beginning of the year, and selling for between N150 and N250 per litre depending on place of purchase, would be available in the market and will sell at N50 per litre in all NNPC mega stations nationwide.
