Asaba-MEN of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspected notorious armed robber, who specialises in car snatching, while posing as a police officer on the highway.

State Police Public Relations Officer,  Mr. Charles Muka, who confirmed the arrest said that the suspect was notorious and had been on the wanted list of the state command.

Muka told Vanguard, “a notorious armed robber, whose modus operandi was car and motorcycle snatching while impersonating as a police officer had been arrested. He had been on the squad’s wanted list and was arrested at Kwale town.

“We recovered from him two police identity cards bearing his name and photographs with  Corporal and ASP ranks respectively. One  Honda Accord saloon car, which was snatched by the  suspect from one Ndubuisi Dike on May 30, this year was also recovered.”

Muka added that “a criminal receiver in whose custody the car was found was also arrested while the suspect had confessed to series of robberies both in Lagos and Delta States. Investigation is in progress and he will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.”
