Eagles recall excites Osaze

West Brom forward, Osaze Odemwingie has heaved a sigh of relief after Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia recalled him for the friendly match against Ghana’s Black Stars holding on August 9 at Watford, England.

Osaze, who was banned from featuring for the national team by Siasia in the aftermath of his departure  from camp in March. But following the intervention by NFF top guns, Osaze was pardoned and during the week, was included in the team for the Ghana game.

Speaking on his recall, Osaze told his club’s website that he was happy that the matter had been laid to rest and promised to honour his country’s call whenever it comes.

“I am so happy that my freezing out is finally over. I always love to play for my country and you can understand how I felt when the issue was resolved by the NFF top men. I thank them for coming to my aid because playing for my country is something that is very close to my heart”, Osaze told

He added that he was always willing to give his best to the national side, who are struggling to qualify for the 2012 African Cup of Nations being co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and

“My dream is to help the Super Eagles qualify for the Nations Cup and I believe that it is target that can be realized if we play with our heart”, said Osaze
