Delta lawmaker sent out over dressing

Asaba—Mr. Victor Ochei, Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Tuesday, ordered a new entrant, Mr. Benjamin Okiemute, representing  Isoko South Constituency I, to leave the Assembly for improper dressing.

A former Speaker of the House and member representing Ika South constitutency, Mr. Martin Okonta, had during proceedings, raised a point of order in which he declared  that the member representing Isoko South I was not properly dressed.

Okonta said: “Mr. Speaker, I want to draw the attention of the House to the fact that the member representing Isoko South Constituency I is not properly dressed. He is dressed like para-military personnel; like a Boys Scout.”

Ochei then asked Okiemute to stand up and to explain if he was properly dressed.

Okiemute admitted that he was not properly dressed and the Speaker said: “Please, you have to leave and do the needed.”
He quickly packed his papers and left the chambers.
