Community raises alarm over attack

WARRI – LEADERS of Ikpokpo community  in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, raised alarm, Wednesday, over an attack on the community by armed youths.

They claimed that several persons were injured during the unprovoked attack, while a six-bedroom building under construction was destroyed.

Chairman of the community, Mr. Godwin Akori, told newsmen in Warri, that armed youths from Madangho and Ugborodo launched attack on the people in the early hours of Tuesday.

He said: “Early Tuesday, I got a call from the village that youths armed with dangerous weapons from Madangho and Ugborodo stormed the teachers’ quarters under construction at about 2am, manhandled and locked up the security man.”

This is the second time that the community was being attacked, but we will not retaliate.”
