LAGOS — Former  Minister of Communications, Major-General Tajudeen Olanrewaju (rtd), has expressed shock at the death, Monday, of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Al-Mustaim Abaniwonda, in  Lagos lagoon.

Olanrewaju expressed shock and sadness over what he described as “painful death of a good-natured man” like the late PDP’s Lagos East Senatorial candidate in the last general elections.

He prayed for the repose of his soul in paradise and sought God to give the family and associates he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“His death at this time is painful and sad but, as Muslims, we believe that from Allah we came and unto Him we shall return.  May Allah forgive, keep and bless his soul till the day of resurrection,” the General prayed.

The late Abaniwanda had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
