Wrigley, a global leader in confections recently bagged an endorsement for Orbit Sugarfree Chewing Gum by the Nigerian Dental Association. This was disclosed during their stakeholders meeting held in Abuja with the theme “Changing The Image Of Dentistry”.

The aim was to correct the negative perception of dentistry in Nigeria, believed to have led to a retarded growth, poor service delivery and underutilisation of the dentistry profession in Nigeria.

In a presenatation, National President of the Nigerian Dental Association , Dr Olufemi Orebanjo, described the endorsement as deserved, coming after scientific research carried which showed impressive results.

Also speaking, Brands Manager, Orbit and PK, said it was the beginning of a healthy relationship. ” Through this relationship, Wrigley will be contributing her quota to the development of the dental profession, while also educating our esteemed consumers on the benefits inherent in the chewing of the Orbit Sugarfree Chewing Gum”

A global brand, he said the product was enjoyed by millions around the world. His words: “Scientific research has shown that the physical action of chewing Orbit sugar-free gum for 20 minutes after eating stimulates saliva flow, which helps to prevent cavities by reducing plaque acids and strengthening teeth.”

Wrigley with operation in more than 40 countries operates as a subsidiary of Mars, Incorporated, a private, family-owned company founded in 1911.
