UGHELLI — CHAIRMAN of Otovwodo motorpark, Ughelli, Delta State, Prince Eric Oharisi, yesterday, congratulated Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan on his inauguration as governor of the state for a second term.
Oharisi who fielded questions from newsmen, described Uduaghan’s victory at the April 26 gubernatorial election as well deserved.
Commending Uduaghan for his landmark achievements during his first term in office, he expressed hope that the governor will consolidate on the policies and programmes he started in the first term.
Oharisi, who is one of the youth leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, urged the youths to keep the peace in their various communities. He added that the Governor would only deliver on his campaign promises in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
On reports that he dumped the party in the last elections, the youth leader described the report as untrue, adding that he worked with other leaders of the party in the area to secure the votes the party got in the elections.
While insisting that his commitment for the party was unequaled, he noted that he never had cause to disagree with his party, the PDP and the State Governor, whom he described as an epitome of youth empowerment at anytime.
Speaking further, he held that very many youths in the State have been empowered through the State Micro credit programme and other agricultural programmes.
To this end, he appealed to the urhobos to continue in their support for the state government, saying; “Governor Uduaghan is one of us. He is an urhobo man; he was born and bred in urhobo land.”
