Telecom giant MTN Nigeria has ended it’s twenty one days of giving and sharing within host communities scattered across the nation at a lavish ceremony held recently at the company’s headquarters in Lagos.
The event had in attendance top executives from the company with Mr. Abdul Ismail, MTN’s chief information officer representing Mr. Ahmad Farroukh the chief executive officer of the company.
For three weeks, MTN had embarked on what it described as an intensive community care programme with the theme Making a Positive Difference to the Environment which now resonates with a new global thinking of increased environmental protection and going green to save the planet.
According to Mr. Ismail “Over and above twenty one days of Y’ello care, we will shortly be launching some long term environmentally sustainable initiatives as a business and in alignment with the group.”
In the course of the weeks, MTN had embarked on braille paper project, donations of support materials, tree planting campaign, Y’ello duck project, waste-art project, reduce paper waste challenge, and environmental awareness campaign.
He continued “I have therefore been very delighted that we have all voluntarily chosen to be change agents and friends of the environment. I am even more delighted with reports of the activities that took place in this year’s edition across the country. We have again a strong will to continue to positively impact on the communities where we operate.”
