ABUJA-Public administrators  have been accused of being impediments to the growth and progress  of the nation.

Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Ahmed Ghazali, said this in a paper he presented at a Federal  Civil Service Preparatory Workshop on  “ Introducing Performance Contract  in the Nigerian Civil Service,“ yesterday in Abuja.

He stated that public administrators stall development due to their decrepit and incompetent administration.

‘Public administrators take their responsibilities for granted and the issue of accountability  as a  mere slogan of governance. We are witnesses to accusations and prosecution of public officers who were alleged to have  embezzled public funds in their billions.”
