Abuja – The leader of Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Front (NDPSF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari on Friday urged President Goodluck Jonathan to appoint technocrats as ministers.
Asari, who gave this advice at a news conference in Abuja, said that Jonathan should ensure that his administration must embrace change that would advance the country’s development.
He denied any knowledge of being recommended for appointment as Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta.
“My attention has been drawn to rumour making the round that my name has been recommended for appointment as the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta,’’ he said.
“Let me state clearly here that I have not been contacted by the presidency or any authority to that effect.
He said that even if the presidency was thinking on that line, he would not accept such offer for obvious personal and collective reasons.
He called on Jonathan to reappoint the former adviser on Niger Delta, Mr Kingsley Kuku, who, he said, performed creditably.
He said that Kuku was outstanding in the areas of oversea training, interfacing between the ex-militants and training vendors. (NAN)
