Imo FA salutes Okorocha
The Imo Football Association (IMFA) has congratulated the governor-elect of Imo state Owelle Rochas Ethelbert Okorocha who last week won the keenly contested Imo governorship election.
The FA in a release signed by it’s media committee chairman Mr. George Aluo described Okorocha’s victory as deserved.
The FA noted that Okorocha was the only gubernatorial candidate in the state that made sports a campaign issue ahead of the election. The release stated in part:“The state FA is particularly happy that Imo would from May 29 be in the hands of a man who has a blue print for sports.
During the pre- election campaign Chief Okorocha made it clear that sports will not remain the same if voted into office. We are confident he will take sports, especially football to the next level with the community based sports program which he highlighted during his campaign.”
