Enugu guber poll: CJ orders Judge to hands-off suit against Chime
Sequel to an avid protest by Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu state, challenging the judicial conduct of trial Justice Gladys Olotu of a Federal High Court in Abuja who hitherto presided over a fresh suit seeking to invalidate his election victory, the acting Chief Judge of the High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, Wednesday, ordered the judge to hands-off the suit, just as he equally transferred the case-file to another court for continuation of hearing on the substantive matter.
EU congratulates Nigerians on conduct of 2011 polls
The European Union (EU) has congratulated Nigerians on the successful conduct of the nearly concluded general elections in the country. This was contained in a statement issued by the EU’s High Representative Catherine Ashton on the conduct, process and outcome of the polls.
