Ex beauty Queen Ololade Facus is founder of Greenpearl of O’lade, a branding and beauty communications outfit, responsible for designing beautiful logos for various companies. However, the former Sisi Oge Queen is taking time off work to care for the less privileged in the society, through her project tagged Germs of the World . The two day event begins with a pre event Ball at the Civic Centre on Thursday May 26, to give people an idea of what Germs of the World is all about. While the children will be hosted to a time of fun and fanfare on May 27 at the Muri Okunola park, as part of the children’s day celebration.

The French graduate from the University of Lagos speaks more on the project as well as her fashion and style.

Who’s idea is gems of the world?

It’s my own idea, I have always been this since 2007, 2008, caring for the orphans but, I have never done it this big as what Im doing this year.

In what way were you doing this?

I visit the orphans, give them few things and at times, when I am at home, the children in my Estate, I call together and just let them have fun. But I decided to make it big this time around because I wanted people to contribute to charity. A lot of people want to care for the less privilege in our society, but their busy schedule make it difficult for them to do so. I stand as a voice for them, using my company as the vehicle through which they can reach the children. We have contacted corporate organizations to partner with us in getting to the children.

How do you intend to get the street kids off the street?

Not necessarily the street kids per se, but those in the Orphanage and some other places where less privilege children are being taken care off. I have been to Modupe Cole’s place, Little Saints and some others to intimate them of our intention to host these kids and they really like the idea of us wanting to put a smile on their faces.. I know getting the street kids is not an easy thing to do, a lot of people have tried to do in the past but were unsuccessful. But we have been able to achieve that through Germs of this world project.

What is the motive behind this project?

What Germs of the World is all about is to celebrate these children and bring out the best in them. We want the children to have fun, let them know how much they are loved and appreciated. Every normal child on that day will be going to the cinemas and other fun loving places to share with their loved ones, so we want these children to also do the same as they too are special children.

How are we sure that this is not just another event were proceeds will get to the children?

It is true that people have done this and nothing gets to the children. like I said earlier on, I have always been doing this without collecting a dime from anyone, all I do actually comes from my pocket. If we are calling people together to celebrate these children, it is just to show them love from what we have and any proceeds that comes from anything we do will definitely go to the orphanage homes we work with.

It is going to be continuous events?

Yes it will, it is been for a while, only that it has not been this big. It is going to be a continual thing which will involve a lot of activities.

What should people expect in terms of program come Thursday 26?

There is going to be a lot of entertainment just for people to come and relax, and have a feel of what Germs of the World is all about. There is going to be a little fashion show, dance and a lot of music. For the fashion show, who are working with up and coming fashion designers; we are using this as a platform for them to showcase their stuff.

When it comes to fashion, how would you describe your style?

I dress to suit my personality. like to wear what speaks for me. I wear classic items because they do not go out of fashion.

When it comes to bag, what do like?

Silver studded cocktail ring,Gucci perfume,Louis Vuitton bag and Alexander McQueen studded suede pumps

I like Louis Vuitton.

Special beauty regimen?

I drink a lot of water, eat fruits and good foods.

What is your taste in perfume like?

I love Gucci. I love the smell, the package and it’s colour, Gold and Brown.

Best make-up product?

Iman and Mary Kay.

What makes you happy?

Only God makes me happy. I find joy in everything that I do.

Where do you see yourself in the next five to ten years?

I would be in the media hosting talk shows.
