A pressure group, Nigeria Youth Awareness Initiative, NYAI, has commended the leadership trait of  Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Dimeji Bankole, and described him as a true ambassador of Nigerian youths.

National Coordinator of the group, Olufemi Akindele, told newsmen that in realization of their role as key stakeholders in the Nigeria project, it  very imperative for youths to identify positive contributors to the sustenance of the nation’s democratic system and encourage such people.

His words: “In appreciation of the visionary leadership that Hon. Dimeji Bankole has provided the lower chamber of the National Assembly since he assumed leadership in 2007, we deemed it fit to commend him as a dependable youths’ ambassador.”

Expressing absolute confidence in Bankole, NYAI noted that it was wrong for any individual or group to attempt to malign the image of the speaker for political purpose and cautioned desperate politicians to shun such habit in the interest of national integration.

“For any discerning political observer, it would not be difficult to observe the latest desperate attempt by some individuals both within and outside the National Assembly to continuously malign the good image and reputation of the House Speaker, Hon Dimeji Bankole,” Akindele noted

NYAI Coordinator added: “It is not reasonable to assume that an individual could singlehandedly secure a loan worth 10 billion naira from a bank in the name of the House of Representatives as claimed by some people who have been going about with the recent campaign of calumny to rubbish Bankole”.

“It is regrettable that these individuals cum contractors could descend so low in their desperate bid to discredit the good works of Hon Dimeji Bankole during his saddle in the leadership of the House of Representatives. We view these allegations with a feeling of pity and disgust”.

“We hereby call on all Nigeria youth to resist this attempt to rubbish the Speaker as this is clearly targeted at preventing the Youth from occupying such vantage positions in the future.

That is the objective of those individuals and their collaborators who have never been comfortable with Bankole as a youth even though they are not oblivious of the transformation he has brought into play in the House of Representatives
