Flying Eagles player, Ahmed Musa said that it was delightful experience seeing the Nigerian Under-20 team beating Cameroon to win the Africa Youth Championship on the same weekend he scored to lift his club in their relegation battle.

Ahmed Musa in action
Musa was meant to be in South Africa with the John Obuh tutored team, but he was withdrawn by his Dutch club VVV Venlo. He could only play the opening game against Ghana and was back in Holland helping his club to battle relegation.
“ I’m happy that the Flying Eagles won the AYC without me. I wanted to be there but because of pressure from my Club I couldn’t make it.
“Now that is behind us I can concentrate on helping VVV-Venlo remain in the top league here, Musa said.
The fast attacking midfielder scored twice in Venlo’s 3-2 win over Feyenoord. And perhaps Venlo officials felt justified on their insistent to keep Musa away from the AYC.
VVV Venlo escaped automatic relegation with a crucial 3-2 home win over Feyenoord.
The man of the match was Nigerian forward Michael Uchebo who set up Musa for the two goals, while he made the third.
21-year-old Uchebo has scored four goals and assisted five times over 22 appearances this season, his second with the side for which he is contracted to until July 2012.
