Umuahia-TWO tribunals have been confirmed to sit in Abia State to hear petitions from political parties and their candidates who participated in the just concluded 2011 general elections.
One of the panels will sit exclusively over governorship petitions, while the other will entertain petitions on the National and State Assemblies elections.
Sources from the secretariat of the tribunal located within the premises of Abia State High Court complex on Ikot Ekpene road, revealed that one of the panels will sit within the court premises, while the other will sit at the Aguiyi Ironsi Conference Centre on Finbars road.
But it is not yet know which one will sit where.
Already, members of the two panels were said to have travelled back to resume formal duties today.
Meanwhile, at least 12 petitions have been filed by various political parties and their candidates over the National Assembly elections held on April 9, 2011, across the nation.
According to the secretary of the tribunal, the breakdown of the petitions and other details will be ready today.
