UGHELLI— THE intra -communal clash that has engulfed the Ododegho community in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State over the last three days, degenerated, yesterday.
At least, 10 houses were set ablaze and other property worth millions of naira destroyed, following a violent clash between opposing factions of the leadership tussle in the community.
It will be recalled that three persons were Saturday killed and scores of others seriously injured in the bloody clash.
In the apprehension that took over the community, residents of the community were seen moving out of the community, leaving the area virtually deserted.
Vanguard gathered that property of some unsuspecting members of the community were brought out of their houses and set ablaze, the presence of a handful of security personnel, notwistanding.
According to a reliable source, property of one of the indigenes of the community living in a nearby Ekiugbo community was not spared in the crisis, adding that the ravaging youths stormed his house in Ekuigbo, Monday night, brought out his property and set same on fire.
As at the time of filing this report, residents of the community were still moving to nearby villages and towns to take refuge without adequate security to put the crisis on check.
