SCHNEIDER Electric, the global specialist in energy management, has signed a partnership agreement with GIL Automation Nigeria Limited, giving them the status of an Elite System Integrator (ESI). This was contained in a statement issued by the company and made available to Vanguard in Lagos.
The agreement enables Schneider Electric provide GIL Automation Nigeria Limited with world class automation products for which Schneider Electric is known globally as well as the highest level of service and support. The program will also help to generate new business, stimulate growth, as well as build new customer relationships through shared marketing initiatives complemented by Schneider Electric’s global reach and extensive customer base. Business relationships will also be sustained through excellent customer service, reinforced by personnel training on new products and technologies.
The company further stated that the partnership with GIL Automation underscores its commitment to assist indigenous companies grow their entrepreneurial and human capacity while ensuring that they deliver high quality products and services in line with industry standards at all times.
Speaking during the contract signing ceremony between Schneider Electric Nigeria and GIL Automation Nigeria, Mr. Marcel Hochet, Country President, Schneider Electric Nigeria said that the company decided to support GIL Automation as part of Schneider Electric’s initiative to encourage the growth of local companies and manpower. “We are pleased to work together with GIL Automation Nigeria.
This agreement will enable us at Schneider Electric share our global expertise in automation with GIL Automation in order to build their local capacity and accelerate their growth. Our goal is to leave our footprint as the undisputed leader in energy management through valuable partnerships and a reliable network of local technical partners”, Mr. Hochet said.
Mr. Hochet further said the agreement underscores the company’s support for the local content policy of the Federal Government. “Schneider Electric has over the years developed and implemented policies aimed at increasing local content in all our areas of business. This partnership will assist GIL Automation become a leader in automation not just in Nigeria but across West Africa”, he said.
The Chief Executive Officer of GIL Automation Nigeria, Mr. Gbolahan Lawal, commended Schneider Electric for their support. He said the partnership with Schneider Electric will strengthen GIL Automation’s competency in automation and enable it vigorously pursue its target to be the automation company of choice in Nigeria and West Africa.
According to him “We appreciate the support we have received from Schneider Electric over the years. This partnership agreement is another milestone in our relationship with Schneider Electric.
A major aspect of the partnership is that it will help us build our local capacity in automation which until now has been regarded like a black box in the industry. We will now be able to localise technology and meet our customers at their points of need”.
Mr. Gbolahan pledged the commitment of GIL Automation to the partnership agreement. He said GIL Automation will do its best to tap from the immense opportunity offered by Schneider Electric’s expertise in automation.
