Onitsha – A don, Dr Chubah Ezeh, has said that the April 16 presidential election will be hitch-free and transparent throughout the country.
Ezeh told the News Agency of Nigeria, in Onitsha that he foresaw a situation where most Nigerians would vote for individuals rather than political parties.
He said that the change in voting pattern would greatly increase President Goodluck Jonathan’s chances of winning the election, saying he had, overtime, won the sympathy of most Nigerians.
“I see a presidential election where the people’s mandate will count and the principle of one-man, one-vote will be enshrined, he said.
He predicted a situation where people would vote more on individual and sympathy line rather than political party affiliation as was the case in the National Assembly election.
“This shift shows that our people are advancing in politics and it is healthy for credibility and violence-free polls,’’ he said.
Ezeh, who is a lecturer in the Political Science Department at Anambra State University, noted that logistics still remained a major challenge to INEC.
