The Democratic People’s Party, DPP, candidate and senator-elect, Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief Akpor Ewherido, has attributed his victory at the senatorial election to God.

Speaking shortly after he was declared winner in the keenly contested election, Ewherido said only God could have made his victory possible, considering all the odds he encountered before the poll.

Chief Ewherido thanked the leadership and members of DPP in the state for their tireless work that resulted in the party’s victory in the National Assembly elections. He noted that more work still needed to be done to give the party victory in the governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

He also thanked Deltans for steadfastly supporting DPP, voting and defending their votes during the elections. He promised to fulfil his campaign promises and provide effective and vibrant representation to the people.
