Yinka Davies, the petite vocal power house presented her recently released double CD, Black Chiffon, at the Jazzhole, Ikoyi, Lagos to impressive gathering of guests that included members of the diplomatic community, the entertainment industry, music enthusiast and her fans.

Yinka Davies thanked guest at the listening and her fans for waiting patiently for the release of Black Chiffon, which she says tells her story and God’s faithfulness to her, “I also hope that you would find listening to this CD a richly rewarding musical for you and for those that you may wish to share it wish”.
“I believe that this work will project Nigeria as a country with rich musical heritage and will be reference point for what music from Nigeria should sound like”.
In a brief review of Black Chiffon, Mr. Dafe Ivwurie, Managing Director, 24 Media Limited enthused that those who love African sound and sounds Diaspora Africa will have an exhilarating experience.
According to “this is vintage Yinka Davies in the fullness of her vocal power, in the vastness of her musical experiences and influences, in her playful cheekiness, in her soulful glow and delivery; it is Yinka Davies just being herself and dragging you into her world of sheer musical joy”.
He also hinted that plans are almost being concluded to distribute Black Chiffon online for the internet savvy fans.
A roll call of those who attended the event include afrobeat and highlife veteran, Orlando Julius Ekemode and his wife, Latoya, Highlife crooner, Sunny Neji, afrobeat performer, Alariwo of Africa.
Others are the Director of Goethe Institute in Nigeria, Marc-Andre Schmachtel, the MD/CEO of Hexagon Network Ltd., Prince Omoregbe Erediauwa, actresses Ireti Doyle and Najite Dede as well as afropolitan Nigeria/Germany based musician, Ade Bantu and his brother Abiodun Bantu as well as Hon. Habeeb Fashinro.
