PDP’S misrule responsible for decay – Buhari

BY JIMITOTA  ONOYUME, P/H

PRESIDENTIAL candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, Major General  Muhamadu Buhari(rtd), has blamed what he termed misrule of the political leadership provided by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party for the challenges of insecurity, decay in infrastructure and education  facing the nation.

The former head of state, who spoke to his party faithful in Port Harcourt, yesterday, amid tight security, assured that when he becomes the president,  he would take on the twin problem of corruption and indiscipline.

The presidential candidate, alongside other leaders of the party presented flags to governorship candidates of the party in the South South states,  promising a programme that would revamp all sectors.

“We want to go to bed with our two eyes shut. We want to stop indiscipline and corruption. We want to resuscitate power to run industries. We want to resuscitate the transportation sector. We want to turn around the country which has lost a lot during the twelve years of PDP rule,” Buhari stated.

“Everybody is struggling to be in power  to put the treasury in his pocket but we promise to build educational infrastructure  to allow ordinary people to pursue their means of taking care of their families. The country and resources belong to you. You should trust those who will handle it for you to be in positions of responsibility. So, you have to register, cast your vote and protect it.”

He  urged Nigerians to continue to take steps to build a virile society, adding that they should not hesitate to cast their votes in the coming election.

His running mate, Pastor Tunde Bakare, said they were in Port Harcourt to tell the country that no nation is built on good luck. According to him, the CPC was coming with a programme that would transform the nation into one of the top economies in the world.
