UGHELLI- NINE-year- old daughter of Prof G.G Darah, who was kidnapped on February 18, 2011, Miss Erere Darah, has been released after 12 days in the den of her kidnappers.

Meanwhile, a Senior lecturer in the Theatre Art Department of the Delta State University, Abraka, Mr. Eni-Afolabi Jologho, yesterday, lost his life in a ghastly motor accident, less than five-minutes to his residence at Ubeji, Warri, after the long journey from Abraka.

Little Erere, it will be recalled  was reportedly kidnapped on her way to school, after the car in which she was being driven was intercepted by yet unknown gunmen.

Confirming her release, Prof  Darah said Erere was “kept blindfolded and bound hands and feet for 12 days in a lonely hideout.”

According to Darah, “she was rescued after intensive security search,” adding that she was let off the hook on Tuesday night on Agbarho/Ughelli Road by her kidnappers. He disclosed that the driver who was shot by the abductors was responding to treatment.

When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr Charles Muka, confirmed the release and said no arrest has been made.

He said the police was on the trail of the suspected kidnappers and expressed hope that the culprits would be caught.
