Group commends Anambra Professionals on development efforts

The Anambra community in the United States of America under the umbrella of Anambra State Association, USA,(ASA-USA) has  commended the League of Anambra Professionals, (LAP) on their development projects geared towards advancing Anambra State in the 21st Century.

Speaking last week in Lagos during a dinner organized by LAP  in honor of its  former President of LAP, Dr Ikem Odomodu, now the Director General of Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON, the President of ASA-USA, Dr Allison Anadi in his goodwill message told the gathering that Anambra community in the United States of America will continue to play a significant role in state building.

While commending the new SON’s DG on his new appointment,  Dr. Anadi was optimistic that Dr. Odumodu is the right person for the job and believes that his leadership and policies will go a long way to enhance the quality of life of Nigerians.

“Dr. Odumodu has a proven record of quality leadership and helped to bring the League of Anambra Professionals to its current height, he said.

Anadi expressed high level confidence on Dr. Odumodu’s ability to deliver quality service to Nigeria and he wished him well in his new office.

And that “Anambra community in the United States of America is very passionate about capacity building, and socio-economic development in the state” he said.

ASA-USA President indicated that while ASA-USA will maintain its signature projects for Anambra state, the group will partner with any group, especially LAP in building a great future for the children of the state.

He added that ASA-USA is currently reviewing collaborative efforts with LAP and the state Government in area of economic investment and economic summit in Anambra state. More so in the area of election he said that during the April 2011 elections  ASA-USA and LAP are also exploring collaboration possibility in-terms of election monitoring.

Anadi while congratulating  the new President of LAP,  Mrs  Katia Ekesi, said that  Anambra community in US   will find areas of common interest to collaborate on for the interest of Ndi Anambra.

The mission in the formation of ASA-USA, according to Dr. Anadi, include but not limited to
promoting and fostering love, peace, unity, togetherness, cooperation, understanding, justice and fair play between and among all Anambra people living in the United States and in Nigeria or elsewhere in the world, and to do the same in regard to the promotion, pursuit, practice of transparency, accountability, and good governance in public affairs

It is also the group’s commitment to encourage and support justice, good public policies, genuine democracy, and honest, transparent, and non-corrupt governance at every level of society in Anambra State politically, socially, culturally, economically, and otherwise, ensuring that the Anambra State children and people are educated and encouraged to take their rightful places in society.
