April polls: No way for opposition in Delta – Group

By Kenneth Ehigiator

Ahead of next month’s elections, a group, Finger of God Transforming Delta Programme, has said there was no prospect for the opposition parties in Delta State, saying that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan had done so much for the people to earn their votes.

According to the group, the outcome of the elections will not be different from the re-run that took place on January 6. Project Manager of the group, Mr Clement Ogbo,  in a statement, yesterday, said it will not be a surprise to them,  if Governor  Uduaghan was re-elected for a second term, in view of his achievements in the past four years.

He said, “Uduaghan’s victory next month at the  governorship poll in the state will not shock other political parties because they know that they do not have what it takes to win elections in the state.

“They came into the race to look for faults during the elections, so that they can run to court to ask for  the nullification of  the elections and for  them to be declared winners.

“But thank God, Delta  elections would be conducted in a transparent manner, that their plans to run to court will discredit them before the electorate. By the special grace of God, Uduaghan’s administration created 100 percent level playing ground for all opposition parties in the state and a well secure atmosphere for elections next month had  been created,” he added.
