Imo people have been urged to join the transformational team that will drive the wheel of progress and ensure the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

The Deputy Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Professor (Mrs.) Viola Onwuliri, made the passionate plea while speaking exclusively to Vanguard in Owerri.

She said: “The dire need to put in my best to assist Governor Ikedi Ohakim, to continue and sustain his outstanding strategic plan already mapped out for the development of Imo State, even beyond 2015, becomes imperative.”

Professor Onwuliri said she had “taken this present call to duty with characteristic equanimity, great enthusiasm, seriousness, renewed vigour and determination to work tirelessly with my boss until victory is achieved at the forthcoming election and progress ensured for all Imo people.”

She commended Ohakim for the sacrifice he made for good governance in the state, adding that she was elated by the governor’s great vision, foresight, initiative and courage brought to bear in administering the state to greater social and economic prosperity.
