Ebonyi PDP gets new chair

By PETER OKUTU

Abakaliki – The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State has appointed Chief Amah Ugorji as its new Chairman.

Ugorji, a former Zonal Chairman of the party for Ebonyi South senatorial district, succeeds Chief Dave Umahi, who is now the running mate to Governor Martin Elechi in the April gubernatorial election.

Umahi, while handing over to Ugorji at the party secretariat yesterday in Abakaliki, thanked God for the grace to steer the ship of the party for the past four years.

He also thanked the governor for ensuring that he became the chairman of the party, and for “expressing absolute trust in me by making me his running mate in the April election.

“When my job was made uncomfortable due to the barrage of petitions from aggrieved members, the governor stood by me and ensured that I weathered the storm.”
