MEMBERS of the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation, have summoned the former state Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr. Roland Ehime  his successor, Anthony Akpomiemie and the contractors handling the digitalization of the state House of Assembly proceedings to appear before the Committee on Wednesday this week to explain why the project was abandoned after much fund had been committed to it.

Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Daniel Mayuku, gave the directive when officials of the Directorate of Science and Technology appeared before the Committee for defence of its 2011 budget.

The Committee wondered why the project which was started two years ago was abandoned, saying that the contractors needed to explain why the work on digitalization of the Assembly proceedings, which was a priority project was stalled.

In another development the state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Brave Enodeh, who appeared before the Committee disclosed that his ministry has an outstanding commitments of over N50 billion and appealed to the Committee to help address it in the 2011 budget.
